Approach

We bring decades of experience and native Californian sensibility to the design of outdoor spaces for estate, residential, and select institutional projects. Based on the central Californian coast, we work throughout central and northern California, from Santa Barbara to the Bay Area and from Napa Valley to the Ojai Valley.

We invite clients into a process that builds trust and balances technical craft and forward-thinking design. We strive to understand the entire context of each project, with curiosity about the character of a site and the unique needs of its inhabitants. This means thoughtful consideration of everything from inherent features, views, drainage, wildlife, and climate, to sustainability, architecture, and use case. And it results in a design that not only reflects those inputs but elevates and weaves them into a new context for outdoor experience.

KEVIN LEI

PROJECT MANAGER

Kevin Lei, born in Australia and raised partly in both Australia and California's Bay Area, is a landscape designer whose passion for design has been shaped by a worldly perspective. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic State University Pomona, where he had the enriching experience of studying abroad in Italy, an adventure that ignited his curiosity about the vast possibilities of landscape architecture.

With a profound commitment to his craft, Kevin embarked on his professional journey at Thomas Klope Associates, where he spent five years perfecting his skills in high-end residential design. Kevin relishes the individuality of each project, tailoring them to clients' dreams while respecting the unique context of the site, region, and local ecology. Beyond his design prowess, Kevin finds inspiration in his diverse interests, from globe-trotting and savoring local cuisine to powerlifting, hiking with his faithful dog Bobo, and venturing off-road in search of new adventures.
